Marauder Sailing Charters Supports Vieques Humane Society

Marauder Sailing Charters is proud to support the efforts of the Vieques Humane Society.  We have virtually adopted a puppy named "Tiny" who is just 10 weeks old (pictured below, center).  By virtually adopting her we have pledged a monthly donation that will help provide food and care until she is adopted for real.

The Vieques Humane Society relies 100% on donations from the community and currently has 65 dogs that they are caring for.  If you would also like to virtually adopt a dog or, even better, adopt a dog for real contact the Vieques Humane society at 787.741.0209 or check out their website www.viequeshumanesociety.org for more information.

Our Half Day Sailing & Snorkeling Trip

Marauder Sailing Charters offers several trips daily.  However, our most popular is the half day Sail & Snorkel.  This 4 hour excursion departs from Esperanza at 9am and returns around 1pm.

We begin this trip by sailing out of our protected cove and into the turquoise Caribbean Sea.  From this vantage point you will see Monte Pirata and Esperanza as we round the corner past Sun Bay toward our snorkeling site.  While en route the crew serves drinks and snacks and explains Vieques' turbulent history.

When we arrive at our snorkeling site we get everyone geared up and into the water!  As you snorkel and swim the crew prepares lunch and mixes up a batch of our signature golden rum punch.  Our lunches usually consist of grilled Caribbean jerk chicken, homemade salads (pasta, potato, green leafy), grilled veggies and dessert from a local island bakery.

Once everyone has finished their lunch and has a fresh drink in hand, we begin our sail back to Esperanza.

If a half day trip isn't long enough for you we also offer full day trips where we explore several reefs along the coast of Vieques.

Call or email us today for more information or to book your trip!

Sailing in the Caribbean

Sailing in the Caribbean is something that everyone should do at least once in their lifetime.  If it's not currently on your list of things to do, cross off something else that you know you'll never actually do and replace it with Caribbean sailing.

Writing a novel, for example, is probably a good choice for replacement.  Seriously.  You and I both know that writing a novel will never happen ... it requires so much time and actual writing skills.  In the time it's taken me to write this one small paragraph, which is probably riddled with terrible punctuation and grammar, I could have gone sailing, snorkeling and been half way through lunch.

Sailing, from our guests' standpoint, does not require much time and it requires absolutely no writing skills.  If you can sit, relax and enjoy the view of Vieques from the turquoise blue water, then you can sail the Caribbean.  It's as easy as that.

So add Caribbean sailing to your list of things to do, give us a call to set up your trip, come sailing with us, then cross it off your list.  You'll feel like you accomplished a life goal on your vacation and go home a better person.

Where's Vieques?

Vieques is a tiny island located about 8 miles off the east coast of Puerto Rico.  It's just 21 miles long by 4 miles wide and is home to less than 10,000 people.  While small in size, Vieques is huge in natural beauty! With some of the world's best beaches, turquoise waters and pristine reefs, Vieques is a perfect vacation destination.

Since Vieques is a US territory no passports are required for US citizens, which makes it even easier to visit!
